General Announcements: - Open Meeting on New Cell Phone Policy:
The Student-Faculty Senate invites all members of the school community to an open meeting on the new cell phone policy. The meeting will be on Wednesday, November 18, during X-block. The location will be announced later.
School administrators have been invited to present the rationale for the new policy, and to listen to feedback and suggestions from the school community. Students and faculty are invited to hear the administration's rationale, and to offer their comments and constructive alternatives.
Briefly, the new policy forbids cell phone use anywhere on campus at any time during school hours. It will become effective on January 5, 2010. Complete details are in the Student-Parent Handbook, which is on the LHS web site.

- X Block:
"Many students who are new to LHS ask, "During X block what can we do and where can we go?" During X block students may attend Senate, use the library, gather in the Commons, gather in the main hall, get help from teachers, meet with LHS staff, gather in the quad, gather in the grassy area between the World Language building and the Math building or outside the library, or arrive late to LHS if they have no school commitments. Students may NOT loiter in parking lots, gather in hallways other than the Main Hall, use any athletic facilities without PE staff supervision, or cause disruption in school classrooms and library.
Sincerely,
The Deans"
